Annual community picnic.

Events

Annual events are held each summer at the lighthouse and include Québec Lighthouse Day (July 13) and the ARPP Community Picnic (second Sunday in August).

Other special events may take place throughout the year.

Programs

One mission of the lighthouse project is to encourage community use of the site and its facilities for educational, cultural and scientific purposes. Individuals or organizations can propose activities or events on a one-time or reoccurring basis. Possible areas of interest are described below.

  • Arts: courses; hands-on workshops; Master classes; artists/writers-in-residence
  • Education: seminars; children’s nature camps; university field courses;
  • Science: sentinel monitoring; academic research; citizen science;

Interested parties should contact info@metislighthouse.ca as early as possible to explore options and scheduling. Reduced user fees will apply for programming in line with our mission.
